incontinence pads can sometimes be prescribed on the NHS
In certain circumstances, incontinence products may be available on prescription.
To qualify, you may need to be assessed by a healthcare professional. Please contact your GP who may refer you to a specialist nurse!
The assessment may include:
Reviewing your medical history and any medication you take.
Asking about your urine and bowl movements (e.g. how regularly do you need to go).
Information about your diet and fluid intake.
Details of the incontinence you’re experiencing and how severe it is.
Your self-care abilities
Your cognitive abilities
Urine and bladder tests
If you‘re eligible, the specialist will let you know which products you‘re entitled to.
