incontinence pads can sometimes be prescribed on the NHS

In certain circumstances, incontinence products may be available on prescription.

To qualify, you may need to be assessed by a healthcare professional. Please contact your GP who may refer you to a specialist nurse!

The assessment may include:

  • Reviewing your medical history and any medication you take.

  • Asking about your urine and bowl movements (e.g. how regularly do you need to go).

  • Information about your diet and fluid intake.

  • Details of the incontinence you’re experiencing and how severe it is.

  • Your self-care abilities

  • Your cognitive abilities

  • Urine and bladder tests

If you‘re eligible, the specialist will let you know which products you‘re entitled to.
