Trick or Eat: and the weights are in!

Last week a whopping 5,347.45 kg of food donations were collected for Trick or Eat across Hackney, which makes it the second biggest donation we have received this year!

What does that mean in terms of the number of meals? Well, last year's Trick Or Eat collection came to 1,265 meals - this year's collection came to 12,732 meals - a humongous increase!

We are blown away by the humanity shown by the many people across our community ready to help those of us who are in deep crisis. Particular special thanks to Jenna Fansa of Local Buyers Club who organised this and gave up the ground floor in her home to store the massive haul until we could collect the lot - it took nearly a week!!

Sadly as we move into winter the problem is set to get far worse. While this huge donation of food sounds huge, it will only see us through two weeks. Please keep donating. If you haven't yet started your reverse advent calendar it's not too late to start. Download your copy here.

We shouldn't have to be running events like this, in fact, foodbanks shouldn't have to exist.
